สำหรับเหตุที่น่าสนใจคงเป็นเรื่องของราคาที่มีการปรับลดลงมาและสถานะการณ์เปลี่ยนแปลงค่าเงินยูโร โดยทาง Acer เลื่อนออเดอร์จากกรกฎาคมมาเป็นสิงหาคมและเดือนกันยายนก็จะปรับลดต้นทุนลง แต่ในขณะที่ HP ในเดือนกันยายนจะมีเพิ่มการจำหน่ายขึ้น

แต่อย่างไรก็ตามผู้ผลิตโน้ตบุ๊กก็คาดการณ์ว่าจะการเติบโตขึ้น โดย Quanta คาดว่าโตชึ้น 10-20%, Compal 5-6%, และ Wistron 10-15%

Acer LumiRead e-book reader รองรับการเชื่อมต่อ Wi-Fi และ 3G ที่ออกแบบมาเพื่อการดาวน์โหลดเนื้อหาได้อย่างสะดวก นอกจากนี้ทาง Acer ยังได้ร่วมมือกับ Barnes & Nobles ที่จะนำเสนอเนื้อหาให้โดยมี e-book กว่า 1 ล้านเรื่อง นอกจากนี้ในเยอรมนี้ ก็มี Libri.de ที่มีเนื้อหากว่า 4 ล้านเรื่อง รวมถึงจีนเองก็มีเนือหาเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ, จีน, เยอรมนี และยังจะแปลเป็นภาษาฝรั่งเศสและอิตาเลี่ยนด้วย

Acer LumiRead e-book reader มีหน้าจอขนาด 6 นิ้ว หนาเพียงไม่กี่มิลลิเมตร ซึ่งให้ลักษณะการทำงานคล้ายกระดาษและสามารถใช้งานได้ในสภาวะแสงต่างๆ ได้ดี นอกจากนี้ Acer LumiRead e-book reader ยังมาพร้อมหน่วยความจำแบบแฟลชขนาด 2GB ซึ่งสามารถจัดเก็บ e-book ได้กว่า 1000 เรื่อง และยังสามารถเพิ่มความสามารถในการใช้งานด้วย memory card ไม่เพียงเท่านี้ Acer LumiRead e-book reader ยังสามารถสแกนรหัสหนังสือ ISBN เพื่อที่จะสร้างรายการและค้นหาหนังสือแบบออนไลน์ได้ด้วย
